Iran’s President Raisi dies in helicopter accident: Vice President Mukhbar is interim president amid tensions with America-Israel; one day mourning in india

Iran’s President Ibrahim Rai and Foreign Minister Hossein Aamir Abdullahian died in helicopter crash. Iran’s official news agency reported on Monday morning. His helicopter was discovered around 7 pm on Sunday evening while returning from Azerbaijan. Nine people in the helicopter were killed in the accident. 

Iran, the most popular country in Middle East Asia, has lost two of its leaders at a time when its relations with Israel have deteriorated to the level of conflict. There is tension between America and Iran. Meanwhile, co-chairman Mohammad Mukhbar has been made interim president. Iran’s supreme religious leader Ayatollah Khamenei made the announcement on Monday.

Iran’s supreme religious leader Ayatollah Khamenei has declared 5 days of state mourning in the country on the death of President Raisir. 
Here, the Government of India declared one-day mourning in the country on 21 May. The national flag will be kept at half mast during this time.

Helicopter crashes in the mountains near Azerbaijan border 
Raisir helicopter crashes near Iran’s Bhardeghan city, bordering Azerbaijan. This is a hilly area. Rescue organizations conducted search operations throughout the night amid heavy rain, fog and extreme cold. The remains of a helicopter were found in the mountains of Azerbaijan on Monday morning.

During the return, Foreign Minister Hossein, Governor of East Azerbaijan Province Malik Rahmat and Imam of Tabriz Mohammad Ali  Hashem were in his helicopter. Along with the pilot and co-pilot of the helicopter, the crew chief, security chief and bodyguards were also present. Everyone lost their lives in the accident. 

UN Security Council observes one minute silence for President Raisi


Members of the UN Security Council observed a minute of silence in memory of Iranian President Raisi and his colleagues killed in a helicopter crash. The members observed silence under the leadership of the Council President and Zambian Ambassador Pedro Ammissario Afonso. 

Iran President Raisir orders investigation into helicopter crash
The country’s army chief Mohammad Bagheri has ordered an investigation into the cause of the crash of the Raisir helicopter, Iranian news agency ISAINE reported. It has been said in the report, Bagheri has given the responsibility of investigation to a high-ranking committee.
Turkey’s Transport Minister said – signal is not coming from Iran’s President Raisir helicopter.


The signal system of the helicopter in which Iranian President Rai was traveling was not operational, claimed Turkish Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu. Or it did not have any signal system. Russia has offered assistance in the investigation of the helicopter crash.

Russia’s former Defense Minister and Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu has said that he is ready to cooperate with Iran in the investigation of the helicopter crash. Russia’s state news agency RIA reported this information through Al Jazeera.
Raisir’s body will be kept in Mashhad city for last rites.
Putin spoke on the phone with Iran’s interim president. 
The Russian President spoke on the phone with Mukhabar, who became the interim president of Iran after Raisir’s death. The New York Times reported that after the war in Ukraine, Russia helped Russia by sending Iranian drones. After that there was a very good relationship between the two leaders.


Reaction of world leaders on the death of Russian President Raisir: Vladimir Putin expressed condolences on the death of Raisir. In a statement issued from the Kremlin, Putin said, “Raisi was a true friend of Russia. Under his rule, relations between the two countries became stronger. Our thoughts are with Iran in this sad moment.”
