External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar told the Lok Sabha on Tuesday that there has been a noticeable improvement in relations between China and India, which is a significant development for the two countries. Speaking to the house, he emphasized the government’s steadfast will to address long-standing concerns with China through diplomatic and military means.
Jaishankar highlighted that recent negotiations have been successful in resolving important border issues. He cited an October patrols agreement that aims to maintain peace in sensitive regions, as well as the settlement of conflicts along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). An important step in lowering tensions and preserving border peacefulness is this mutual agreement.
The minister’s comments correlate with an increased international interest in India-China relations, especially in the wake of the 2020 military standoff in the Galwan Valley. Jaishankar emphasized the government’s proactive stance, saying that normalizing relations requires constant communication and collaboration.
A positive change in the two countries’ relationship is reflected in the advancements made in settling border disputes through diplomatic and military means. Even while there are still obstacles to overcome, these moves show that both countries are dedicated to pursuing better stability and understanding.
The minister’s efforts were praised by the Lok Sabha, which also acknowledged the significance of promoting a peaceful relationship with a neighboring country.
