The President said, this is my first visit to the new parliament building. This magnificent building has been built since the begining of eternity. It has the fragrance of One India, Best India…

It also contains a determination to respect the constitutional and parliamentary traditionls. Along with this, there is also the determination to build a new India of the 21st century. I am sure there will be meaningful policy discussions in this new building.

The President Draupadi Murmu addressed the joint session of both houses of parliament on the evening the commencement of the budget session of the parliament on Wednesday.

The President said, Last year was full of  success  for India. Theere were many successes – India became a fast growing economy. India became the first country to reach southern Merte of Chad . The successful G20 Summit hosted by India has strengthened India’s role in the world.

India has won more than 100 medals in the Asian Games. India also got the Atall Tunnel. The President also said,”The Achievements and gains we are seeing now are an extension of the practice of the last 10 years .We have heard the slogan “Garibi Hatao” since childhood. Now for the first time in our lifetime, we are witnessing the eradication of poverty on a large scale.
